The Scopa Cane Doggy from ViceVersa (Doggy Broom) is a great looking broom shaped like a dog on an aluminum handle for a leash. It comes in blue, cream, green and pink. It's absolutely adorable and my chuckler of the week.

Why mess with something that works? Because if you are a student in Inustrial Design School, you can. This is an ergonomic broom that I made half jokingly for a class. Little did I realize that it would actually work, and be much more comfortable than the standard. Who-da-thunk...

The top handle of the broom swings up at an angle that the user can adjust. The sweeping mechanism pro-tracts to adjust for the height of the user. And it's covered in fake cow fur because I love fake cow fur.

 Stick on rechargeable Lights

With suction cupped feet and a warm inner glow, these rechargeable , stick on anywhere lights are not only cool but rather handy. The lights are surrounded by a rubber outer shell which houses and protects the inner bulb.
Three suction cups at the base act as feet, allowing the bulb to be placed just about anywhere.

As they are battery operated and fully rechargeable, the bulbs are cordless  and can travel with you and take up new real estate in the most unusual places. They will be available to purchase from online store sometime in 2007.

The family structure in most countries has transformed radically. From huge extended families we have broken down to single units, and with the current trends most of us are loners. Sprawling bungalows have been replaced by matchbox-sized apartment. Our need for big, huge and spacious has been reduced single and multifunctional. Taking this lead is the Portable Washing Machine concept designed by Benjamin Beaugh. It’s a simple machine that can be lugged around like your wheeled luggage, and has the capacity to wash a complete set of clothes and a full-sized bath towel. This size is sufficient for a couple or a small family. Moreover, the innovative washing unit can be placed next to the kitchen sink for the water source and drainage. This may do away with the need for a water pump, but what bothers me about the design is that it can take a toll on your back. Lifting and placing the machine on the board, every time you need to use it, can be very inconvenient. Nonetheless, we cannot take anything away from the innovative as well as portable design that simply reflects the spirit and needs of modern era.
