chaos magazine

Publications_labfile_19

Years ago we experimented with a magazine that was based on the Chaos Theory. It consisted, initially, of a number of projects send in by Labmembers. The projects, however, were printed on loose pages, and put in a box. There were only 5 copies of these books made.

The Chaos Theory is explained by the image of a butterfly that by moving its wings in Europe, it causes a storm in New York.

So we did the same thing. Each CHAOS-issue was given to someone on each of the continents. They could read, get inspired, but had to ADD their project on printed pages (or other) to their copy of the 5 books. They also had to send us the files digitally, allowing for others to follow the project on the website. Then they had to hand over the magazine to someone else. This system allowed for the content to grow.

We thus used the internet (in the old ages) as a system to structure chaos. As a reader, you could select the chapters, contributions of you're liking, order them, and we would have them printed digitally. You created your own chaos.

If there are enough people interested in doing this again, using today's internet techniques & word of mouth, then yes, let's do it again.
