#462 National Day of Mourning

Friday, 9 January 2026, Switzerland will come to a standstill to mourn the victims of the devastating fire in Crans-Montana.

We grieve the loss of so many young lives—lives full of promise, dreams, and unrealised futures.

Some of those we lost were students from a school Addictlab works closely with, and one of the most affected by the tragedy.

We mourn the students who never came home, those who are fighting to recover from life-changing injuries, and those who were not there but must now live with an absence that will never be filled.

As an organisation devoted to helping young people grow, learn, and realise their potential, this tragedy feels unbearably cruel. What was lost in Crans-Montana cannot be measured. We stand in solidarity with the families, friends, teachers, and communities whose lives have been forever changed, and we hold on to the hope that time, care, and compassion will slowly bring healing.
